20181019-017--20181019-_DSC1486-Enhanced-NR ELEPHANTS.jpg

In October 2018 I was on a photography-inspired trip to Sri Lanka with my friend, Ari Hodosh, and one of the safaris was through Kaudulla National Park in north central Sri Lanka. It was one of the most beautiful days of my life and sad as well. I wept for these beautiful creatures and all the loss of habitat and cruelty at the hands of humans all over the world. But among these gentle giants I saw close family ties and social structures. To say it was extraordinary would be only because I don’t have more superlatives. I hope my nephews and their kids and their kids kids can grow up in a world where there are still wild elephants.
